Early giving has been strong, and the community energy around Shake-A-Leg Miami is undeniable. Over the past few days we’ve seen meaningful engagement, steady support, and a growing wave of momentum that reminds us why Give Miami Day matters so much. People are stepping up because they understand the impact this place has on kids, families, veterans, and people of all abilities. Now, with Give Miami Day arriving tomorrow, we’re preparing for one of the most important days of the year.
This week has been especially exciting as we host the M32 World Championship at our waterfront home. Ten world-class teams are here in Miami, training, racing, and bringing an electric energy to Biscayne Bay. Beyond the action on the water, every one of these teams has joined our Giving Challenge, each creating their own Champions Page and rallying supporters from around the world. They’re competing not only for results on the racecourse but also to see who can raise the most to support inclusion and adaptive watersports. We are sincerely grateful to all ten teams for embracing our mission and becoming part of this effort.
Our Shake-A-Leg Miami Mentors have also stepped in with incredible enthusiasm. They’ve launched their own Champions Pages and are now competing to see which mentor can mobilize the most support. Many of them grew up sailing here, some are now leaders in our programs, and seeing the community back them so strongly has been a reminder of the long-term impact this place has on young people. Their momentum has been inspiring and reflects the heart of what we do.
Tomorrow we’re celebrating Give Miami Day the way only Shake-A-Leg Miami can, with a day-long sail from sunrise to sunset. Beginning at 6:00 AM and continuing until 5:30 PM, our team, participants, volunteers, and supporters will be out on the water honoring inclusion, celebrating our kids and veterans, and showcasing the spirit that has defined us for 35 years. This sail is more than an event, it’s a statement of who we are and why this mission matters.
Throughout the day we’ll be livestreaming, sharing updates from the water, posting highlights from the M32 Worlds, and keeping everyone connected to the energy on Biscayne Bay. If there’s ever a day to follow along and join the movement, it’s tomorrow.
Give Miami Day is our opportunity to push this mission forward in a big way. With your support, we can continue opening the waterfront to people of all abilities and create even more life-changing experiences. Let’s make tomorrow count.
