Our commitment

Shake-A-Leg Miami is committed to making shakealegmiami.org usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most widely used to measure web accessibility.

What we do

  • We check our pages with automated accessibility testing and fix the issues it finds, such as text without enough contrast against its background.
  • We write text alternatives for meaningful images, and we mark purely decorative images so screen readers skip them.
  • Animations respect the reduce-motion setting on your phone or computer.
  • We keep improving the pages that are already published as we find problems.

Known limitations

We are still working on parts of the site, and some content may not yet fully meet the standard:

  • Forms and pages provided by other companies, such as our online donation and registration forms, and embedded videos.
  • Older PDF documents, such as past newsletters and financial filings.

If you cannot use something on this site, tell us and we will get you the information another way.
