Community and Connection: A Special Bay Day x Sunday Social

We started March with a special Bay Day x Sunday Social, bringing together families, participants, and friends for a relaxed and welcoming day on the water.

The bay was filled with smiles, boat rides, music, and moments of laughter that set the tone for the month ahead. Shake-A-Leg Miami welcomed Eunies Buddies families to campus for a meaningful day of community, connection, and fun on the water. Eunies Buddies, Miami’s Best Buddies Family Support Program, supports families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), helping them navigate lifelong journeys with guidance, connection, and care. Special thanks to Daniela Santana, Deputy Director of Eunies Buddies, for her leadership and continued commitment to supporting families in our community.  

We were also honored to have Cameras for Kindness join the day, providing cameras for children to capture their experience from their own perspective. Their photos reflected the confidence, joy, and sense of belonging these moments create. 

Families experienced sailing and waterfront activities in a supportive and inclusive environment, strengthening bonds and creating shared moments of joy and freedom.  This day captured that spirit perfectly and reminded us of the value of slowing down and sharing time together on the bay.
