Adventure Island is almost here!

There’s something special about learning that happens outside. On Adventure Island at Shake-A-Leg Miami, every day is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and connect kids to the water in meaningful ways. What may look like just a ‘fun day in the sun’ is actually an experience that blends recreation, environmental education, and personal growth for children of all abilities.  

Campers spend their days sailing across the bay; learning how to read the wind, steer the boat, swim in the ocean, and work together as a team. They cast fishing lines and celebrate each catch, not just for the thrill, but for lessons in patience! In the shallow waters of the sand bar beside the island, they swim, splash, and grow more confident and comfortable in their abilities.  

Adventure Island also invites children to explore the environment around them. Discovering marine life, like mangroves and ocean ecosystems, gives campers hands-on knowledge about our South Florida waterways. Crafts and creative projects inspired by nature allow children to express what they’re learning in fun, tangible ways.  

Most importantly, Adventure Island is a place where friendships are formed, independence flourishes, and safety is number one. Surrounded by certified, supportive instructors and the beauty of the outdoors, children are encouraged to try new things, take healthy risks, and celebrate their accomplishments. By the end of the day, they leave with sandy feet, sun-kissed smiles, and a deeper connection to the world around them, and each other.

Details You Need to Know:

Camp Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Camp Dates: June 08, 2026 – July 31, 2026  

Age Range: 7 years old through high school–aged youth.

Scholarships Available: For City of Miami district residents who qualify, based on free lunch eligibility or a documented disability

Program Fees: ¢400 per week (+$100 for aftercare)
