We are thrilled to host the Melges 20 and Melges 24 classes of the 2012 Bacardi Race Week Series from March 8th 10th. We hope you enjoy your time on the water and at our fully accessible community water sports center. LAUNCH AND RETRIEVAL SERVICES For Bacardi Race Week we will be providing Launch/Retrieval service for the Melges 20 and 24 fleets. Launch and retrieval service will be available at SALM beginning Tuesday March 6th and will continue through March 10th. This service will be available exclusively to the Melges 20 and 24 fleets. This service will be available between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm. Competitors choosing to take advantage of this service will be given a reasonable time period to rig and prepare their boat prior to launch. Boats must launch on the day that they arrive. Cost for launch and retrieval services will be $150. Please prepay for this service by filling out the attached

Click here for Launch/Retrieval Agreement Launch and retrieval service provided by SALM does not include trailer storage. Trailers must be removed from the SALM premises after the vessel is launched. For information on trailer storage please see the section below. Please note: Boats or trailers dropped outside the white fence or in the municipal parking lot are subject to towing by the City of Miami. We cannot do anything about this, and we suggest you follow all posted parking signs.
TRAILER STORAGE Due to space limitations, all Launch/Retrieval trailers must be stored at an offsite location. Trailer storage is available at Dinner Key Marina which is located less than 1⁄2 of a mile south of SALM. The cost for trailer storage is covered by your registration fees. For storage please contact Dinner Key Marina located at 3400 Pan American Drive, Miami FL 33133 or call 305-579-6952. Please check in at the Marina office to receive a trailer tag prior to dropping your trailer.
IN WATER STORAGE (Subject to Availability) Competitors making use of SALM Launch/Retrieval services may also choose to make use of in-water storage at the SALM docks. Cost for in-water storage is $10 per day. Please note vessels making use of in water storage will have to raft. In water storage is also available at the mooring field managed by Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC). There is no additional charge for mooring at CGSC as the cost is covered in your registration fee at this location. VISITOR EXPECTATIONS -SALM runs programs for a variety of individuals including youth with disabilities and youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds. In consideration of these programs: -Shoes and shirts are required when on site -Changing in the parking lot area is prohibited -Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed during regular SALM program hours PARKING CONSIDERATIONS Please note the City of Miami Parking Authority has become very strict regarding boats or trailers parking even temporarily in the municipal lot. Trailers or vehicles attached to trailers parked in the lot or on city side walks will be towed. No boats may be stored or placed temporarily outside the white fence of the SALM parking area. Repeated abuse of the City parking lot may prevent us from hosting this event in the future, so please help us to insure we will be able to host this event for many more years by adhering to all posted parking signs. |
