Shake-A-Leg Miami first had the pleasure of meeting Kenny Civil, the star of the "Inspector Kenny" movie series, in the summer of 2005 when he rolled onto the Shake-A-Leg compound with a beaming smile that inspired us all. Not before long, Shake-A-Leg campers, mentors, and teachers in the Aspire program were attracted to Kenny's spirited energy and radiant smile. Although Kenny has a speech impediment due to Cerebral Palsy, with one outburst of his infectious laugh and energetic hoot, he communicates waves of wisdom and understanding. To add to these valuable qualities, he uses a high tech computer attached to the front of his wheel chair that enables him to verbally communicate with others. Soon after Kenny’s arrival at Shake-A-Leg Miami he was recruited into the summer camp film crew where he became an instant star after playing the lead role in, “Inspector Kenny: Agent 0010” the first of a four part series.

Since his first movie, Kenny has gained more and more notoriety with each new production of his movies. His second movie, “Inspector Kenny Returns” was nominated for an award in the Miami Children’s Film Festival (the largest in the country). In the summer of 2007 he was featured in the Miami Herald and invited as a special guest to visit the set of the TV show “Burn Notice.” In 2008 he had the opportunity to meet Roy Disney and the production crew that produced Roy’s sailing movie, “Morning Light.” Kenny’s movies have become viral on the Internet and continue to be viewed by thousands of people. One of Kenny’s proudest accomplishments is that when you do a search on Google for “Inspector Kenny” he comes up first. Most recently, Kenny and Shake-A-Leg’s Multimedia Director Jared Bistrong were featured on CNN International. Stay tuned for a fifth installment of the Inspector Kenny Movie Series.
