January 17-19, 2009

1. The Organizing Authority of the regatta is Alex’s Bluewater Foundation, Shake-A-Leg Miami and Flat Earth Racing.

2. The race will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules Of Sailing.

3. The expected classes are:
Sailboards in the following classes:
- Formula (Standard Formula Rule)
- Kona One Design
- RS-X
- Open Class
Keelboats in the following Classes:
- Skud 18
- Sonar (Paralympic trim - 2 Sails)
- J-24
- 2.4 mR
Dinghies in the following classes:
- Access 2.3/3.3 (singles and doubles)
- O’Pen BIC (under 12 years old and over 12 years old)

**If five or more one design boats/boards are entered, they will be scored as a class

4. The racing area will be in various courses on Biscayne Bay northeast of the seaplane channel, approximately 1 nm from the Shake A Leg docks.

5. All sailboards and sailboats must have sail numbers. Competitors sailing without sail number will be scored as DNC (did not compete) . Your entry is incomplete if you do not have sail numbers.

Friday, January 16
 15:30-17:30: Pre-race check in @ SALM
Saturday, January 17:
 08:30-09:30: On site registration and check in
9:30: Welcoming remarks and Skipper Meetings
 11:15: First warning, races to follow
Sunday, January 18,
 10:15: First warning – Dinghies, races to follow
 11:15: First Warning - Keelboats/Windsurfers, races to follow
Monday, January 19,
 09:45: First warning – keelboats/windsurfers races to follow.
***No warning after 13:00.

7. The courses will windward/leewards.

8. Entry fees:
Windsurfers: $125 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $150)
2.4 mtR’s (single-handed): $125 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $150)
SKUD 18 (2ppl): $150 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $175)
SONARS paralympic trim - 2 sails (3ppl): $175 by Jan.9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $200)
J-24’s (4ppl): $195 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $220)
Access Dinghies: $110 by Jan . 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $135)
O’Pen BIC (inc. boat charter): $110 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan.10 $135)
O’Pen BIC (bring your own boat): $60 by Jan. 9, 2009 (after Jan. 10 $85)
Extra person sales: $50 for all three days or $20 per person per day. This includes meal tickets and access to the spectator boats.

(**Entry fee includes three days of racing, continental breakfast, light shore side lunch, and dinners Saturday and Sunday night of event. Additional social tickets may be purchased for $50/ person for all three days or $20 per person per day.)

9. When five races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score

10. Keel boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with the permission of the Principal Race Officer.

11. ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • HOTELS: There are 15 rooms (Double Beds) blocked for a fixed rate of $159 (+ tax) at the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove (2800 SW 28th Terrace Miami, FL 33133.
